Nalini vintage cycling jersey Casino - AG2R 1998
Size: XL (5)
Condition: 8/10 (used)
Casino was a French cycling team in the 1990s, sponsored by a supermarket chain of the same name. The team started in 1996 as a continuation of Chazal-MBK-König, which was founded in 1992. Casino was in turn succeeded in 2000 by Ag2r Prévoyance.
1998 was at the same time the high point and low point of the Casino cycling team. Three World Cup races were won and two stages in the Tour de France. Furthermore, Casino riders were the strongest in eleven smaller stage races. The low point, however, was the exposure of Rodolfo Massi as the "pharmacist" of the peloton. He and sports director Vincent Lavenu were arrested by the police during the Tour de France. Massi was riding in the polka dot jersey at the time and was highly placed in the general classification, but was taken into custody and unable to start the next stage.
