Team HTC-High Road was a cycling team that was active from 1989 to 2011.
The team was a continuation of T-Mobile Team, a German team that grew into one of the most successful teams in the world in the 1990s as Team Deutsche Telekom. Plagued by doping cases, main sponsor Deutsche Telekom decided to end the collaboration after the 2007 season. Team manager Bob Stapleton continued with the team under the American flag, under the name Team High Road.
From mid-2008, Columbia Sportswear was the first title sponsor of the team. HTC joined in July 2009 and after 2010 Columbia stopped again, which resulted in the name HTC-High Road. The team included several well-known riders, including Mark Cavendish, Mark Renshaw, Bernhard Eisel, André Greipel, John Degenkolb, Kim Kirchen and Tony Martin, as well as the young talents Tejay van Garderen and Rasmus Guldhammer. The "train" that is often deployed in the final kilometers of sprint stages in major races ensures strong and regular results and many victories for Mark Cavendish. Moreover, the team has a remarkable number of riders who are either very good at time trials or very good at sprinting.
