Lugdunum CLG was born in 2008. From 2009 to 2010, the team trained on the Doua campus. Since 2010, training sessions have taken place on Monday evenings in Caluire-et-Cuire, at the Henri-Cochet stadium. The Lyon Tournament, counting for the French championship, generally takes place on the Doua campus in Villeurbanne.
During the 2009-2010 season, Lugdunum CLG participated in its first tournaments. First in Liffré, then in Paris for the final of the 2010 French Gaelic football championship. The squad was then very limited, and the team often had to borrow players to be able to play the matches. .
The following season, the club developed thanks to its partnership with the Franco-Irish Association of Lyon (AFIL), and its sponsors (Johnny's Kitchen, the Wallace Bar, and Dumona). The team attracted a growing number of French, Irish and Scottish players, and organized its first tournament - a tournament counting for the Eastern Conference of the 2011 French Gaelic football championship. It reached the final, and had to lose against Toulouse. Lugdunum CLG also discovered the Euroleague by participating in the Maastricht tournament. The team loses all its matches, and notices the gap which still separates it from the best European teams.
