Andre Agassi is a former tennis player from the United States of America. His father is of Iranian origin and Armenian and Assyrian descent.

In 1999, Agassi became the fifth player in tennis history to win a career slam: all four Grand Slam tournaments (but not in one season): the Australian Open, Roland Garros, Wimbledon, and the US Open. In total, he has won eight Grand Slam tournaments, placing him tied for ninth on the list of Grand Slam titles.

Agassi is the first player ever to win all Grand Slam tournaments and the Tennis Masters Cup (now the ATP Finals), to be part of a winning Davis Cup team, and to win a gold medal at the Summer Olympics (which Novak Djokovic will complete in 2024). He has also won seventeen Tennis Masters Series titles. Although he held the record when he retired from playing at the 2006 US Open, few players have surpassed that number since then.
