Quick-Step became the main sponsor of the team in 2003. Before that, it was a co-sponsor of the Mapei cycling team.
At the end of 2010 it was announced that the Czech businessman and millionaire Zdenek Bakala would provide the team with the necessary credit until 2013. In 2012 Marc Coucke's Omega Pharma, previously a co-sponsor with the brand name Davitamon, came to the team as the main sponsor and the new name became Omega Pharma–Quick-Step.
In 2015, the team was renamed Etixx–Quick-Step. Etixx is a brand of sports nutrition and nutritional supplements that is part of Omega Pharma.
In 2016 Marc Coucke left the team and the team continued under the name Quick-Step Floors.
Quick-Step is an internationally oriented team. The team focuses on stage races, classics, one-day races and sprints. The manager of the team is the West Flemish Patrick Lefevere and team leaders are his compatriots Wilfried Peeters, Tom Steels, Rik Van Slycke, the Italian Davide Bramati, the Dane Brian Holm and the German Jan Schaffrath.
In 2019, Deceuninck, a Belgian manufacturer of windows and doors, became the co-main sponsor for at least three years and the team continued under the name Deceuninck–Quick-Step. In 2021, Deceuninck announced that it will really stick to three years.
