Original Nike cycling jersey Tour de France 2006
Size: L (unisex)
Condition: 9/10 (used)
The 93rd edition of the Tour de France started on Saturday 1 July 2006 in Strasbourg and ended on 23 July in Paris.
There was no clear favourite beforehand, after Lance Armstrong had retired and the absence of favourites such as Ivan Basso and Jan Ullrich. The Tour eventually seemed to be won by Floyd Landis, who made a spectacular comeback after a huge collapse and took over the yellow jersey in the time trial from Óscar Pereiro, who in turn owed his good ranking partly to the almost thirty-minute lead that the peloton had granted him and his fellow escapees in the thirteenth stage.
However, a few days after the end it was announced that Landis had been caught using banned substances. On 20 September 2007 the International Cycling Union declared Pereiro the winner. This decision was confirmed by the Société du Tour de France.
