1996: Volkswagen and Trek join forces and start the Trek Volkswagen mountain bike team. This coincides with the introduction of the Trek Jetta. A car that, especially in America, is often offered in combination with a Trek Jetta bicycle. This is the first collaborative project between a car and bicycle manufacturer.
